The Mother Lode region of California, offers a wide variety of unique and beautiful backdrops for any size wedding. Whether you imagine yourself getting married amongst the green grapevines at our various wineries, or at the base of our thousand-year old Redwoods, Calaveras County virtually has it all.
However, have you stopped to consider something truly unique and special? Are you yearning to reveal your inner “Little House on the Prairie?” Well the following example may not be a house…but……it sure conjures up the romance of an earlier era……
I give you the Historic Douglas Flat School Circa 1854, located in Douglas Flat, Ca just below the beautiful town of Murphys:
The Douglas Flat School is the perfect setting for a wedding no larger than 75 total. The large parking area will accommodate approx 40 cars, but other methods of transportation from nearby Murphys is available. For guests needing assistance upon entering, there is a wheelchair accessible ramp along the right side of the building.
The school is maintained by a group of people dedicated to preserving its history, and upkeep of the historic building. The bell at the top of the roof still rings out loud and clear, and will serve as a unique way of letting everyone know that your wedding day has arrived!
